The Project We Are Supporting

The Violet and Algy Dinner 2026 will support the funding of a new Principal Treatment Centre for Children’s Cancer which will open at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital not before October 2026 as part of an ambitious period of expansion. This will support the approximately 1,400 children who require specialist cancer treatment in South London and Southeast England every year.

This new space will help deliver outstanding cancer care to children and enable research to develop better, kinder treatments. It is being designed in collaboration with families and patients, ensuring that they are cared for in an environment that is child friendly, comfortable and supportive.

This new centre will build on Evelina London’s existing, world-leading expertise, but the project is above and beyond the reach of current NHS funding.

The support of The Violet and Algy Dinner will help plug this gap, enabling Evelina London Children’s Charity to fund new wards, clinical spaces and equipment across two buildings. The centre will be embedded within the existing hospital, meaning patients can access vital specialist services like children’s surgery, cardiology and an intensive care unit. By working together, Evelina London will provide joined up and innovative care for children with cancer.

With your help, we can enable the extraordinary moments of courage and compassion which happen every day at the Evelina London.

Evelina London

Evelina London is a specialist hospital providing expert treatment for children across the UK and vital healthcare services for families in Southeast London. The hospital moved to its iconic location next to St Thomas’ Hospital in 2005 and provides specialist NHS care to almost 70,000 children and young people every year.

The award-winning building was designed around the needs of the children, their families and staff to provide the best possible care. The result is ‘a hospital that doesn’t feel like a hospital’ with state-of-the-art equipment and services.

With 30 different areas of medicine and around 4000 dedicated staff, Evelina London is now the second largest provider of children’s services in London - with the largest paediatric intensive care unit in the region

Evelina London Children’s Charity

Evelina London Children’s Charity helps to provide compassionate and trailblazing care for children and their families. With thanks to supporters, the Charity funds projects or equipment across Evelina London Children’s Hospital and community services that go beyond what the NHS can provide. This includes improving patient and parent experience, buying state-of-the-art equipment, investing in innovation and research, and supporting the hardworking team.
